Google remains the top dog in Intenet search, but AOL and Ask Jeeves are nipping at Google’s heels, according to new research from Nielsen//Netratings.
Nielsen’s latest data indicates the number of searches handled by the two challengers is growing at a faster pace than those handled by frontrunner Google.

During the second quarter of this year, queries on AOL and Ask Jeeves rose by 15 and 16 percent, respectively, while queries on Google had single-digit growth of 6 percent.

Overall, from the first to the second quarter, there was a 5 percent increase in the number of searches users conducted online.
